Yes, the Hall has a car park that can accommodate approximately 6-8 cars depending on the size of the vehicles. There are also local car parks nearby on Bridge Street and Field Land where additional parking is available.

Please note: The Hall car park is locked when the Hall is not in use and cars left at the Hall once events have finished will be locked in.

Yes, we have a reasonably sized gated/fenced area with lawns to front and rear of the Hall, which can be used when hiring the Hall. Lawns are approximately XX (front) and XX (rear).

Yes, subject to availability. A local dance school is usually in the Hall from 8.30am – 1pm on Saturdays, but the Hall is available for hire at most other times. We expect the Hall to be vacated by Midnight.

We can accommodate most types of events at the Hall – from birthday parties, to weddings, yoga and karate classes, public health events, tea dances, discos or theatre and music events. There are a few types of events which ar not accepted at the Hall. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for further information, or email us at bookings.belpercommunityhall@gmail.com

Yes, the Hall has Wifi that is available free of charge to all Hall users.

No, sadly this type of activity is not allowed at our Hall.

No barbecues, fire pits or any other type of naked flame (e.g. candles) are allowed to be used anywhere on the Hall premises, whether inside or outside.

The premises is owned by Derbyshire County Council (DCC), but leased to a Board of Trustees which is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Hall, as well as the planning and smooth running of Events held there. The Hall Events – such as Live and Local – are run by a local team of Volunteers, who sell raffle tickets, food and drinks etc at events to help raise money for the Hall’s upkeep.  Belper Community Hall is a registered charity, (Charity No 1078761.)

Yes, there is a concrete ramp at the rear of the Hall for wheelchair / pushchair access, plus a portable ramp which can be used at the front entrance. A disabled toilet is available. All surfaces within the Hall are flat (no steps) allowing ease of movement for wheelchair / disables users. Our outside areas are also flat with a path that runs most of the way round the Hall to allow disabled access.

The capacity at the Hall is able to accommodate seating for up to 120 guests.

Belper Community Hall has a well-stocked kitchen which can be hired for a small additional fee when the Hall is hired. Equipment includes:

  • Crockery – selection of mugs, glasses, plates, cutlery for Hall use.
  • 2 x kettles
  • 1 x large water heater
  • Electric cooker
  • Cleaning equipment – to enable users to leave the Hall neat and tidy when vacating

So long as you are hiring the event for a private and not a public event, you can bring an consume alcohol (so long as over 18) on the premises.

If you wish to run a public event and serve alcohol for purchase, you will need to apply for a special temporary licence. The Hall does not have it’s own alcohol licence.

All empties must removed from the Hall when the premises are vacated in both instances.
